Subject: Cassette Master is Weakest Link & Too Much Audience Chatter
My title basically states my opinion: It was 1990, and as you can see under "Source," an Aiwa CM-S20 Mic into an Aiwa HS-J380 Stereo Cassette Recorder was used to record this. Still, the sound is not too bad, except it's most definitely an in-the-audience recording as one can hear full conversions many times of the taper and his pals. If this was the only thing by Hitchcock available, I would say "grab it," but there is so much better available. This is also a solo Robyn Hitchcock, accompanied only by himself on the acoustic guitar. That's good or bad, depending on your tastes. To me, it's not so good. The Venue is down at the Landing in St. Louis, where I lived for 2 whole years. Before they got gambling, that was a great area to go hear some music; I bet and hope it still is. UPDATE: I listened to this again, and Robyn is damn funny here! As far as that goes, the recording is good enough. I mean FUNNY!

Notes

Hitchcock was extra zany this night and the recording turned out fantastic!
